This level sensor reads agitated liquids and uneven tanks

Non-intrusive and high accuracy, TL-400-I is innovative in many aspects

TL400-I, the latest development in the sensor field, is an innovative release in many respects. The device uses the Time of flight principle using a Class One laser beam, which is completely harmless to human vision and allows highly accurate measurements at an affordable cost.

New to the NOVUS sensor portfolio, TL400-I uses laser technology, has non-intrusive application and performs monitoring without dead zone in tanks up to 4m. Without contact with the measured material, this device has a long useful life because it does not suffer interference or degradation due to contact.

Innovative technology

Like all NOVUS products in the development phase, numerous tests were carried out with different materials and usage situations. This allowed the team to develop the know-how to embed a statistical algorithm into the product. That's why the TL400-I is capable of taking readings even in liquids under agitation and in irregular tanks.

Another important consideration is that the TL400-I was field tested to expand the scope of testing conditions to then offer the market an extremely reliable product. The partner company where the in-use tests were carried out was so satisfied that it has already purchased more than 3 thousand pieces of the product. This Success Story is available here.

Setting up without the need for cables

These capabilities alone are already a big difference in this non-intrusive level sensor. But the TL400-I still has an almost unprecedented feature: there is no need for cables for its configuration. This non-intrusive level sensor features Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) communication for configuration. Therefore, it can be configured using the NOVUS SigNow software, which has a mobile version, enabling configuration and data reading with a mobile phone.

Bluetooth technology allows the TL-400-I to be configured without the need to be close to the location where it is installed, facilitating handling in cases where the sensor is in a difficult to access location. In the case of irregular tanks, the settings allow customization of up to 20 points, making it possible to linearize the level of any type of reservoir.

  • Level measurement in pressurized environments

  • Fully protected against dust and prolonged immersion

  • Ease of local diagnosis via app

  • Suitable for irregular tanks

  • Designed for measuring liquid levels in tanks under agitation
