The company won the National Prize in 2011 and reached the final phase of this edition
Last tuesday, NOVUS directors attended the ceremony for the National Innovation Award, an initiative of the Business Mobilization for Innovation (MEI), held by the National Confederation of Industries (CNI) and SEBRAE, sponsored by the Financier of Studies and Projects (FINEP) and in partnership with SENAI, SESI and IEL.
Competing in the Process Innovation category of this edition, NOVUS was a finalist with Akaer Engenharia and BQMIL. The award went to Akaer Engenharia, a company in the field of aviation and aerospace engineering. To reach the final of one of the biggest awards of the Brazilian industry is a great honor for all the companies enrolled in this edition.
Sandro Santos, NOVUS Director of Research & Development, was present last night and at the ceremony of the Award in which NOVUS was a winner in 2011. "I was also there when we won. Back then, [the award] was product-focused. Now it's company-focused, a more democratic recognition."
The evaluation process to compete for the award is one of the most rigorous in business awards in Brazil. When applying, companies must present a self-assessment with justifications and evidence. After the responsible committee has analyzed them, they go through a rigorous examination. "We have shown all projects from the last 24 months," says Sandro.
The pandemic scenario, challenging in many aspects, brought moments of difficulty that pushed NOVUS to improve. For Marcos Dillenburg, NOVUS CEO, "the inherent difficulties challenge us even more to innovate. NOVUS is known for its products and this time the award is a recognition for our processes. Our current context involves the need to innovate the way we lead the company sectors to bring more innovative products to the market."
Being nominated as a finalist for the prize in 2022 has an even more special flavor. This year, NOVUS turns 40 and is about to launch one of its most innovative products, the first of a line of controllers with unprecedented technology in the market. "We were proud to achieve recognition in the year in which we complete four decades. We managed to keep the flame burning, reinventing, and innovating," reinforces Dillenburg.
